Willamette River Aquatic Invasive Plant Mangement
Pleasant Hill Or 97455
This was a multi-year project which I lead during my employment at the Friends of Buford Park and continued to support as a contractor in 2024. The project was a collaboration between Oregon Parks and Recreation, Lane County Parks, and the Friends of Buford Park.
Project Description
In 2024 I completed river access aquatic treatments on nearly 6 miles of the Coast fork of the Willamette River. Starting from the Hwy 58 boat launch down to the Confluence with the Middle Fork.
The project included Early Detection Rapid Response(EDRR) for aquatic noxious weeds not present such as ludwigia and Yellow Floating Heart. The project also included treatments of the three major noxious weeds that are present, Knotweed of various species, Yellow Flag Iris and Purple Loosestrife.
