Who we are

DSZ Contracting was started in January 2024 by Zachary Miller.

In 2012 he took his first job in land management at the Friends of Buford Park and Mt. Pisgah which introduced him to non-agricultural land management. The Friends is a non-profit that is committed to habitat restoration and stewardship of the Greater Mount Pisgah area and beyond. Primarily focused on the nearly 2500 acre Howard Buford Recreational area(Lane County Park).

During his four years there he expanded his public engagement skills, equipment expertise, and he would help build the Friends spray program to include aquatic invasive species management.

In 2020 he would return to the Friends of Buford Park and Mt. Pisgah after three years of farming to lead the stewardship crew until spring of 2024. In his four years as lead land steward he developed project planning & management skills.

In 2024 he decided to leave the Friends to start DSZ Contracting to provide he expertise to a broader community. After a successful first year 2025 marks a decade in land management with the same level of enthusiasm as when he started but significantly more experience.
